Question: |
What is flow rate? |
Answer: |
Flow rate is the rate at which water flows from a water source. It is measured in Litres per minute. |
Flow rate is important because it lets you work out how many sprinklers you can add to an irrigation system, and what size pipes you should use, before the system stops working.
To measure the flow rate of a water source you need the following tools:
|
|
|
|
A pressure gauge (and gate valve) assembly |
A 9L bucket (note: 9L is standard bucket size) |
A piece of 25 mm clear plastic pipe |
The water source you wish to test |
