Today, employers want to know what career competencies you have. Career competencies are the knowledge, skills and attitudes you need in the modern world of work. They are indicators of how effectively you are managing today’s combination of life, learning and work.
In our changing world job security is disappearing. To remain employable it’s important to be able to identify your career competencies and the ones you need to develop further.
Career competencies can be divided into four skill types. Think about what knowledge, skills and attitudes you have and what areas you could develop further. You will most likely find a degree of cross-over between all of the skill types.
