Visual Arts Unit 2A

This K-12 Curriculum Resource has been developed for use by students who will look at their own (and others) living space in their drawing in an effort to identify what makes their way of life different and unique to the rest of their community. They will look at how Australian artists use different styles of representation, ie descriptive, decorative, interpretive, expressive and abstract in an effort to create a unique body of work. The final art work may be done in textiles, oil, acrylic or a combination of materials that best suits their individual concept. Within this body of work they will explore stereotypes, which may be influenced by certain cultural perspectives, but which will be a celebration of their own existence within their community.
