Hazardous Earth

The Hazardous Earth CD-ROM is a resource to support Unit 2A of the
Geography Course and contains interactive activities and printable materials which can be used either independently or in the classroom.
The resource focuses on the geography of natural hazards and impact minimisation. The two study areas are Tectonic hazards and Atmospheric hazards, with a selection of contexts to be examined. These include volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, cyclonic hazards and flood.
The location and causes of each natural hazard, together with their spatial patterns, how they associate and interact with other natural and cultural features and the human response to interaction with natural hazards, is explored.

Forestry Forum

Geography Unit 2B is a product that supports Geography of sustainable resource use. Its focus is on the renewable resource timber. A case study of the south-west of Western Australia is used to explore Place and Change. The less developed nation of Indonesia is referred to when examining Human influence on Sustainability.
