Design Unit 1A 

This resource addresses content for Unit 1A of the Design Course that can be studied as part of the Western Australian Certificate of Education. It includes three topics that allow students to demonstrate all outcomes and engage with all content of the Design 1A course across the following contexts: dimensional, technical graphics, graphics and photography. The resource focuses on the basics of design as a discipline and includes design history, traditions, tools and techniques. Interactive learning activities are also included.

Design Unit 1C

This resource provides the learning and teaching to address the content for Unit 1C of the Design course. The focus for Design Unit 1C is personal design. Students are introduced to the visual communication aspects of their personality and personal surroundings through decoration, adornment, artefacts and consumer items that are used everyday.

This resource provides learning opportunities across the following contexts: dimensional, technical graphics, graphics and photography.

Design Unit 1D

This K-12 curriculum resource has been developed for use by students studying Unit 1D of the Design course as part of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). It includes four topics with activities that allow students to demonstrate all outcomes and engage with all content of the Design 1D course. Students work through four modules: Stand and design, in which they explore making a social statement, People’s choice, in which they conduct a survey, Just ‘re-do’ it, in which they look at the use of recycled materials and Design despace, in which they design an object or space for community use.
