PRODUCTS
WestOne creates a wide range of VET teaching and learning resources that can be produced in a variety of formats to meet our clients’ needs. These resources include: Learning resources; Teaching resources; Assessment resources and Professional development resources. These resources may take the form of vision (video), DVD, CD, online, printed publication or PDF. Many of the resources produced have been designed specifically to support flexible learning. WestOne collaborates with State Training Providers to produce Toolboxes on behalf of DEEWR. This requires the creation of over 3000 pages of interactive e-learning material. WestOne also creates customisable online learning resources that allow lecturers to take advantage of prepared course material, activities and resources. These can be used as supporting material in the classroom, or as an online flexible delivery resource.
WestOne Services also creates a wide range of K-12 curriculum resources. These are produced in a variety of formats similar to those for VET learning materials: vision (video), DVD, CD, online, printed publication or PDF. The K-12 curriculum resources are designed to support flexible delivery of education within the Western Australian Curriculum Framework. Within each learning area the resources provide an array of tasks that assist students to engage with learning and achieve outcomes.
In addition to our traditional teaching and learning products, WestOne also produces career guidance initiatives and programs. The career guidance initiatives utilise a multi-mode delivery and interaction strategy to allow the general public to be more informed about issues of employment, job skills and lifelong learning. Career programs give examples of various prospective careers; train prospective employees about career research and methods of self promotion; explore bridging courses and skills recognition; and explain how to carve a niche in the world of work. Vision, publications and online components of these initiatives ensure these products are easy to access and have a depth of content.

Creating world-class learning resources requires the use of diverse human skills and advanced technology. These, in combination with an efficient administrative capacity and advanced marketing strategies, allow WestOne to be a leader in the creation and distribution of resources. WestOne partners with industry, training providers and content experts to complete projects. WestOne has extensive quality assurance stages. Market alignment is the first stage in this process and assesses the viability of the project through market research and financial analysis. The results of this research guide the initiation and scope of the production of the resources. Market alignment often forces product conversions where high quality content is repackaged and aligned to qualifications training packages or into a more suitable medium to meet client needs. WestOne’s experienced project managers oversee products from inception to launch. Every resource produced, utilises WestOne’s extensive experience in dealing with copyright issues and management of intellectual property. This experience combines with editors, graphic designers, desktop publishers, instructional designers, web programmers and business analysts to create world-class resources. The dedicated team and extensive user testing ensures the educational integrity and ease-of-use of every product created.
